A detach and reset is the temporary removal of your solar panels so roof work can happen underneath them — then a full reinstall once the roof is finished.

Solar panels are built to last decades, but roofs sometimes need attention sooner: a full replacement, major repairs, or storm damage. Rather than working around the array, the right move is to take the system down properly and put it back properly.

How It Works.

  • Assessment. We document your system as it sits — layout, wiring, and condition — so everything goes back exactly where it belongs.
  • Safe shutdown and disconnect. The system is powered down and electrically disconnected before anything is touched.
  • Labeled removal. Panels, rails, and hardware come off in order, labeled and inventoried. Nothing gets mixed up.
  • Secure storage. Your equipment is stored safely while the roof work happens — not stacked in a corner of the yard.
  • Reinstall and recommission. Once the roof is done, we reinstall the system, reconnect it, and verify it's producing like it should.

When You Need It.

  • Roof replacement. The most common reason. If you're getting a new roof, the panels have to come off first — and our sister company Bright Roofing can handle the roof itself, so the whole project stays under one roof, so to speak.
  • Major roof repairs. Structural work, decking replacement, or large leak repairs that run underneath the array.
  • Storm damage. If hail or wind damaged the roof around or under your panels, we'll get the system down so repairs can start.
