A residential rooftop solar system turns sunlight hitting your home into electricity your household can use right away — or send back to the grid when you make more than you need.
The system is grid-tied: your home stays connected to your utility, so power is there when the sun isn't. Panels capture sunlight, an inverter converts it into the kind of electricity your home runs on, and monitoring shows you what you're producing day by day.

How a Home System Is Designed.
A good system starts on paper before anything goes on the roof. Here's what the design process generally covers:
- Usage review. We look at your past electricity use so the system is sized to your household, not a guess.
- Roof assessment. The age, condition, material, pitch, and layout of your roof determine where panels can go — and whether any roof work should happen first. If your roof needs attention, we can coordinate with our sister company, Bright Roofing — see solar + roofing in one.
- Layout and shading. Panels go where sunlight actually lands, accounting for chimneys, dormers, and shade from trees or nearby structures.
- Interconnection. The system connects to your home's electrical panel and your utility's grid through the standard interconnection process for your provider.
Is Your Home a Good Fit?
Most Texas homes with a reasonably sound roof are worth a look. A few things matter most:
- Roof condition. A roof with plenty of life left is ideal — panels sit on the roof for a long time, so it's worth confirming the roof underneath is ready.
- Shade. Mature trees and neighboring buildings can limit production on some roof sections; a shade assessment shows which areas are worth using.
- Usage. Higher electricity use generally means a larger system makes sense — Texas cooling loads are exactly why solar fits so many homes here.

What to Expect.
- Consultation. We talk through your goals, your usage, and your roof — and answer every question honestly.
- Design. You get a system layout and proposal sized to your home, in plain language.
- Installation. Our crew mounts the panels, wiring, and inverter, then wires everything to your panel and the grid.
- Activation. After inspections and utility sign-off, the system goes live and monitoring starts showing your production.
A note on the federal tax credit: the old 30% residential credit (Section 25D) expired for homeowner-owned systems placed in service after December 31, 2025.
